DCT’s also have an advantage over a motorsports sequential gearbox in a key way you don’t need to install a hydraulic or pneumatic system if you want to run paddles for shifting since it’s all integrated into the transmission. The amount of research and development that goes into an OE manufactured part is truly amazing.
